At Vantage Toyota Blackburn, supporting both local and national charities is something the whole team believes to be important. They're always keen to get involved with any national fundraisers, from the Macmillan World's Biggest Coffee Morning to the BEN Hats on 4 Mental Health day, the whole team are dedicated to getting behind and supporting these events.
This year, Children in Need was no different. Children in Need is an incredible charity run by the BBC who, since 1980, have raised over £600 million to help support children and young people across the UK. At Toyota Blackburn, the whole team are huge supporters of the work that Children in Need funds and really wanted to get involved themselves.
They decided to hold a bake sale for staff and customers, with all members of the team baking their favourite recipes! From victoria sponge, to chocolate brownies, their goodies went down a treat with customers and staff alike.
However, the team at Toyota Blackburn decided that this wasn't enough and wanted to go that extra step to raise as much money as possible for Children in Need. They roped in Garry, Centre Principal, who came in on his day off to help out and decided to take on the role of 'tea boy' for the day for a donation from each member of the team. He also got really stuck in, washing staff cars for £5 each!
Overall, the team raised a fantastic £115.12 for Children in Need.
Garry Allum, Centre Principal, said:
"At Blackburn, we all love to get involved with national charity events. Children in Need is one of the biggest televised events of the year and we were all very excited to get involved, our customers really enjoyed it too!"
