Dale Baker is raising money for Teenage Cancer Trust
Eighteen months ago, Dale set off on a fundraising effort for Teenage Cancer Trust and crossed the Sahara Desert:
"I endured chaffing, sleepless nights and dehydration"
So why do it all again?:
"I also finished the trek with an immense amount of pride in myself for the physical achievement but also the fact that I had raised important funds for a worthy cause and for a great person."
Dale's original trek had such a massive impact on him that he's decided to undertake another challenge and continue his fundraising efforts for them. This time Dale is undertaking a ten-day trek across the Namib Desert in November.
What's he up to now?
Almost completely uninhabited barring a few tiny settlements, the Namid Desert, is spread across the coasts of Angola, Namibia, and South Africa and stretches for more than 2,000 km. With an average total rainfall of less than 10 mm of train annually it is an incredibly dangerous climate to be trekking in. This is going to be a mammoth challenge for Dale but when you consider the cause that he is raising money for you begin to understand his commitment to raising funds for them.
Every day in the UK 7 young people are diagnosed with cancer, teenage Teenage Cancer Trust are commited to providing support to these cancer warriors. Teenage Cancer Trust use funds raised through their various channels to support research, to increase awareness and accessibility to specialist services and the building and maintenance of teenage Cancer Units.
Dale has a target of £5,000 to raise, but we are hoping he'll be able to smash this total. Can you make a donation to help him along his journey? At Toyota Blackburn we are very proud of Dale for undertaking this challenge and will be behind him the whole way.
