Bradley Lowery's plight has touched the lives of many people, particularly those in the football community.
Bradley was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma at eighteen months old and he fought hard for two years to beat it. Sadly, he suffered a relapse in 2016 so a fundraising campaign was set up to raise funds for specialist treatment.
Bradley's family have decided that now Bradley has sadly passed away, the money raised should go to help other children with cancer. The football community has banded together behind the cause as Bradley was a huge fan of Sunderland FC, also having a close relationship with Jermain Defoe.
Our team decided to take part in ‘Dress Down Friday’ to raise some money for this worthy cause, with a special emphasis on wearing their team colours.
We were very happy to see so many taking part in this across the country and we decided to do a little extra too.
We had a wild array of colours and clubs supported by our staff and we had a successful bake sale too which really helped to push up our total, as well as keeping tummies happy!
We had some great efforts from across the Vantage group and we're really proud to be able to say that we've raised a grand total of £1690.85. It was fantastic to see so many of our team going the extra mile to raise money for this worthy cause and we're happy that we could do our small part as Toyota Blackburn in memory of Bradley Lowery.
